I don't see what the big deal is with a "surviver" tag-if you haven't been killed you haven't seen your limits.
If you started a new char just to get the title I hope you hench it. There's enough leavers as it is. Or was- guess there will be a few more now.

hmm.. in pvp you get told that if you're a caster, you need to learn how to kite. In pve, apparently, kiting is evil and makes you a looser, or so I was informed last night while being honest about why I wanted to not kill glint this time round.

I guess I'm stupid though, first, I play a mesmer in pve back at the time where pve mesmers were shunned, then I make an assassin in the prime time of assassin hate (though, I'm hiding him in tyria) and then I make a mesmer soley for the survivor title, getting me shunned yet again for letting some groups know what I"m doing in advance.

btw, how do you get that much xp by just playing the game?

For the max tier? You don't.

You'll need to cap elites (5k a pop) or farm trolls and such with a XP bonus scroll, or farm stuff in general.

you get lots of xp in Cantha that's why i shipped my rank 1 survived back there, did the first missions to be killed by a rit boss while capping skills (600 dmg in 5 secs = dp for the first time -.-) but more on topic my assasin got 5k xp from just doing vizinah square mission,2k from expert rank and 3k from all those enmys. and there is even a 10k xp quest wich costs 2k and a bit of walking to do...

i do believe i am the only one to do this... Cap all 180 skills and get both protectors without dying...

For all of you farming xp, or having someone else farm the xp... Whats the point? Honestly...

hehe i even discoverd the easiest way to get free xp :P
walk to gyala hathcery explorable and just let the luxon npc's kill the outcasts.
you'll even get a bit of xp for this.
but elite capping will work better i guess more xp :P

I think this title means very little. Just face it..you need good teamates and abit of luck to not die even once, NO MATTER how skilled you yourself are. Theres only so much 1 character can do. Quitting before dying is just as pointless as farming xp.

An honest Survivor title = 50% skill + 50% luck

That's impressive. Capping all those elite skills and not getting killed once. I suppose I don't bother with titles all that much. Sure I do RA or TA once in a while but its not spacifically to get glad points. I REFUSE to stoop down to IWAY for Hero's Ascent, even if I wanted to i couldn't get in, because everyone needs a rank if anyone lets them on their team.

it's fascinating how many people will cry "impossible!" just because they can't do it.

the only things that can kill real survivors are surprises and carelessness (i got careless with shiro after getting my title).

I dont really think it matters how a person gets this title in the end, I'm sure anet knew people would be farming xp and such. And quite frankly, in my experience with this, I die way more farming then I do capping skills because I tend to loose my fragile attention span. Legendary survivors who farmed it get some sorta gj too, imo.

I did have a friend run me from lions arch to the desert. He helped me with the ascension missions, ran elona. When I got to thk he helped me with that, then helped me with the first two rof missions, and my first perdition capping trip. ( i went back later for another round of secondary capping. ) Other then this one friend of mine its just been me + henchies, though that isnt in the least saying I could of done it without his help. Henchie AI alone having another real player to help direct henchie aggro is nice, but hes a good player. Hey, maybe he deserves the title. :P

She's a mesmer, so shes not entirely capable of those 'easy' farms. She could farm, yes, but in the most dangerous ways. My main 'source' of xp has been skill capping, but if I could farm like a warrior or monky I probably would.. atleast inbetween capping trips.

I guess that makes me the kinda survivor y'all are rebeling against ;D

That all being ranted, I've a delemma.. I've exited game before to avoid death. (I've never been in a group with people aside from this one friend who well knew I would rq need be.. .. infact hes supported it before screaming 'go go go!' or whatever.. ;D) . Anyways, my problem is, I want to contiue through Cantha for acess to the Factions elites, but I'm not sure what to do about Viznuh. I don't want to get teamed with a random second team and end up bailing on them.

I figure if I bring a buncha my friends the chances would be better both for me getting through the mission and, in my absence, the mission completing anyway, but I'm still not sure if that would be 'mean' or not.

Seban, if you pick your time right, you end up doing vizuna with henchies on the other side, making the mission soo much easier, found out last night when I finally had the guts to do it with my mesmer.

Mesmers can and do farm. Elona's minos can be farmed in probably a faster time than the monks you see there do it. Whether I will use that option later on or not to achieve the 1 mil xp mark, I dont know yet, still very indecisive about it.

Believe it or not that is legitimate..walking with henchies is just as good as running: there's no rule that says you have to make it harder for yourself.

Ah, yeah, I knew that there were some times the chances of me getting real players was almost impossible, but I was just wondering if it would be rude to take the chance.

I was farming minos! As a 55 mesmer using soj and it was scaring the bodiliy fluids out of me.

Anyway, what time would you suggest to try Viznuh?
